Landscape
Design
The
smartest way to plan a landscape... is with a landscape
plan.
A landscape
design can be the difference between expense and investment
when it comes to medium and larger scale projects. Being
able to understand the project before it is built is very
important to all involved.
So often,
consumers are left with a project that does not meet their
needs, and it is usually due to poor planning.
A true
definition of the project that will serve as a guideline
for pricing and installation will save the contractor hours
during the estimating and installation processes.
If you
have a design the contractor is likely to give you more
work for less money because the project is organized.
A few
hours at the drawing board can save a few days on-site.
A landscape
design or plan defines the shapes, themes, textures and
colours for the proposed project. A concept plan can be
created to define the hardscaping (permanent inorganic features
of the landscape) and general plant types. A planting plan
with a plant list can be created to define the exact names,
sizes and shapes of Trees, Shrubs, Perennials and Annuals
to be installed.
During
the planning process our designers consider:
- The homeowners requests,
personalities and current and future needs.
- The existing landscape,
surrounding and immediate features.
- The style of the
building or home: exterior and interior.
- Sunlight/shade affecting
plant growth and seating locations.
- Drainage issues,
other potential or existing problems with the home or
work area.
- Adding the most value
to the home while considering costs of materials and labour
vs. the budget.
